• The CCPS 2021 Fine Arts Festival is virtual! The advantage is that you don't have to drive or leave your home to experience it. Click here to see all of the amazing pieces that our extremely talented students submitted. Visual art, chorus, band, orchestra, and speech and drama are all represented. We are fortunate to have such a strong arts program and incredible student artists at RMS. Many thanks to our arts educators, Ms. Claud, Ms. Puccia, Mrs. Conner, Mrs. Longo, Mrs. Eaton, Mrs. Foster, and Mrs. DiFazio.

• This week is Administrative Professionals Week! Many thanks to Mrs. Walton, Mrs. Cushman, Mrs. Keaton, Mrs. Preston, Mrs. Voigt, Mrs. Brooks, Mrs. Creech, and Mrs. Charris! They are the glue that holds our school together!

• Congratulations to 8th graders Garnett Power and Cooper Harris for making the James River High School Baseball team!

• What a delicious way to support Robious Middle School! Robious Middle School PTA is excited to collaborate with locally owned Bell Greek Restaurant for Spirit Night Thursday, April 22nd 4pm – 8pm. Click here for more information.

• Our next Drama Club meeting will be VIRTUAL, and it will be Wednesday, April 21st. We won’t start until 3:00 to give time for in person students to get home, and we should finish by 4:30. At that virtual meeting, Mrs. DiFazio will share plans for future in person meetings, so we can keep numbers to a manageable size for Covid safety. If a student can’t attend, they should look for information from Mrs. DiFazio in their Canvas Inbox. The student must be part of the Drama Club Canvas page to receive this information. • In honor of National Library Week we are doing a book drive to stock our Robious Middle School library with some books from their Amazon wish list. We applaud our librarians, Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Manning, for continually putting student literacy at the forefront, even through the pandemic. They have been both relentless and creative in ensuring all of our students have access to materials and programs.

• As the weather continues to get warmer, please help remind young scholars to bring their own water bottles to school as drinking fountains are off limits. We have bottle filling stations throughout the building.

• Attention All In-Person Band Students

You will begin bringing your instruments to school on Monday, April 19 (odd day classes) and Tuesday, April 20 (even day classes). Flutes, clarinets, oboes, tubas (mouthpieces), and percussion (sticks and mallets) will carry their instrument and supplies with them throughout the school day. All other instruments must be dropped off in the band room first thing upon entering the building in the morning. At the end of the school day, all instruments must be picked up from the band room and cannot be left at school overnight. Email Mrs. Eaton if you have any questions or concerns.

• CCPSOnline registration is open for Summer 2021 and School Year 2021-22. Middle school courses will be offered again this summer and next year. Career Investigations (middle school required course) is also one of the courses being offered. Please visit the CCPSOnline website for entire course offerings and application information. We also recommend consulting with your school counselor for more details.

• If you have an overdue library book from any CCPS library, you can return it to RMS. There is a book return cart located outside the main office.

• Chesterfield County is offering a parent workshop on suicide awareness and prevention. Click HERE for more information.
