2018 - Week of September 4

Post date: Sep 3, 2018 4:32:04 PM

Twas the night before the first day of school...

We are extremely excited to welcome all of our young scholars tomorrow! Here's a few reminders:

Don't forget that we will begin school at 7:35 am and dismiss at 2:05 pm. Our office will be open to assist you from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm each school day.

If your child is riding the bus, please remind him/her to remember and write down the route number. This will make boarding the bus in the afternoon much easier.

Click here for information on bus routes.

If you are going to be dropping off your child at school, it is extremely important that you follow the signs, the safety cones, and the one-way traffic pattern immediately to your right upon entering school grounds. Please keep your child in the vehicle until you have driven around the cones and have the school building on your right. Please do not let your child out of the car before this as it is not safe for your child to be crossing lanes of traffic and please do not do a U turn and drive against the flow of traffic. I understand that you might be in a rush, but student safety if our priority.

6th graders will report directly to the forum on the first day of school. We will remind them when they arrive and there will be plenty of smiling and friendly adults directing them.

Young scholars should not bring all of their school supplies to school on the first day, besides a notebook and something to write with. Students may bring in school supplies on the second day of school.

Be sure to check out the CCPS webpage here for important information such as the 2017-2018 school calendar, lunch menus, and more.

If your young scholar would like to try out for a sport, she/he will need a sports physical dated May 1, 2018 or after and a completed concussion form to participate. The in-school physicals are scheduled for September 7th from 2:15 - 3:15 in the gymnasium. Forms can be found on the county web site here.

Beginning the 2018-2019 school year, paper applications for School Volunteers are no longer accepted. If you plan to volunteer in the building or be a field trip chaperone you must fill out THIS application. These applications can not be filled out at the last minute. They can take 2-4 weeks to process. If you're approved, the approval is good for 2 years. You will sign into the kiosk at the school as "Volunteer". Click HERE for a document with all the information on the new volunteer application process.
