God is Much More than our Pain

Constanza, how did your restoration actually begin?

It all started when my husband seemed to begin to change from one moment to another. It was like he was an (absent) stranger in our home. Finally, it made sense when I discovered that he was having an affair (the world’s term for adultery) and my world fell. So that’s when I started looking for help by searching the Internet. Then I found hope when I read How God Can and Will Restore Your Marriage.

How did God change your situation Constanza as you sought Him wholeheartedly?

The moment I found your site and I started reading everything. Over and over and over again I read and cried and read more. When I started to do everything the book said, I started praying and fasting so that every day I strengthened myself in God. I was getting closer to the Lord every day too, a relationship that I had neglected but in a way, I never had. Before this journey, He seemed far away and distant, not close to me as I began to know Him.

The closer I got to my HH, the more God did His work. My husband got involved with the OW at work, so each time he left, while fasting, I asked God to get him out of there. To the honor and glory of my God, he was fired. Soon afterward he left his lover when she broke up with him.

After this, he came to me and asked for forgiveness, and of course, I forgave him. Yet now I am praying for a complete healing for my husband and for him to know the Lord as I do. I believe in a God who can do everything, the God of the impossible. I will not give up on my husband, nor on my marriage because He who began the good work will complete it.

What principles, from God's Word (or through our resources), Constanza, did the Lord teach you during this trial?

Every day, I received encouragement from praise reports and that’s what helped me remain happy and God strengthened me. I used the principle of Forgiveness, and that God hates divorce. And that for God there is nothing impossible!!

What were the most difficult times that God helped you through Constanza?

Beloved, there have been so many days of pain, days filled with so many tears. I always read Psalm 23. I read Psalms and Proverbs every day, which is what helped guide me. He also led me to read over all the encouraging marriage testimonies to study what each of these women faced and how they got through their difficulties.

Constanza, what was the “turning point” of your restoration?

It was on the day he asked me for forgiveness, but I had already forgiven him my heart long before he asked. Every day I am surprised by God's attention to details I asked for during my journey that have happened! There are just so many blessings that I can not explain everything all at once. I regret now at not being careful to submit more journals and sending in a praise every day. If there was one thing I regret, that is it.

Tell us HOW it happened Constanza? Did your husband just walk in the front door?

My husband did not actually leave home. Even though he was still living at home, he would come home very late and left very early so he would not have to see or talk to me. Today he is always very present in our home and already we are planning to begin to travel together, something we haven’t done much as a couple since we don’t have children yet.

And another thing is God is molding my husband every day. One week before he started doing the Couple's Course, he stayed a week away from home due to his new job so we were not able to start it. Not wanting to nag him, I left it in God’s hands. Then one day he said, aren’t we going to do the course tonight before going out? I said what course and he said the one that changed you to be so lovely. From that day on it has been one blessing after another. Every day is a miracle!!!

Would you recommend any of our resource in particular that helped you Constanza?

Yes, and I want to be a partner to continue to give towards helping desperate women !!! All the women in the world have to know how to face this misery and to uncover the mystery behind how to save their marriages and help their friends. I recommend and send the first RYM chapter in my emails. So far I have heard back from two friends in crisis and bought them the paperback books. I've already bought a case of your book just to have in my hands to give out, and I'm loving it!!! Thank God for Erin's life. I pray for her and for the mystery behind why so few women know the truth. Please know, you can count on me to help other women. Thank you for everything!!!!

Either way Constanza, what kind of encouragement would you like to leave women with, in conclusion?

Girlfriends, do not give up on your husband and your marriage. Because we know that satan's greatest target is the family. We must not forget that the Family is also God's greatest project, which is ongoing. So if we follow our God, learn His principles, find our HH, then God promises to actually change the universe for us in order to Bless us!

What I also want to say is that we’re still in the process of restoration because He is never done with either of us. If you just stop learning and changing when your husband comes back to you, then you will miss so many miracles!!! You need to keep moving forward so you don’t slip back.

Look, how many of you, imagined your life differently? Think? How much humiliation, shame disrespect did you experience before you wanted to learn about Him and what God says about marriage? Don’t let this happen again. Trust in the God who parted the Red Sea. God has a purpose for every trial and a way through the desert, but He would rather we stay in His Promise Land as long as we are fellowshipping with Him and learning His ways.

No matter where you are along your journey, please never think that your situation is more difficult than what God is willing to do for you!!! And stop despairing because there will always be someone, some woman, somewhere in the world who is suffering more than you are. God is much more than our pain, He sent our salvation.
