Warrnambool College values our Applied Learning Programs. 

Interested students will display VET Readiness by completing a USI number application. Students cannot be enrolled in a VET course without a USI as well as any additional steps required by each course provider which may include online and interview components.  Students will be re assessed mid-year to remain in an Applied Learning Program to ensure the expected high standards of Attitude and Effort are maintained by all involved.

What is VET and how it works

Students can explore their passion through choosing a VET course as part of their school subjects where they will develop workplace skills and knowledge and create flexible pathways towards future education and employment. Each program is designed to meet the needs of industry in terms of preparing students for employment. 

Each VET course is recognised by the Australian Qualifications Framework as meeting the national benchmark in terms of quality education and training. VET is a COMPULSORY requirement of VCE Vocational Major and VET courses can also attribute to a VCE and ATAR *course dependent .
