The aim of Digital Technology is to ensure students develop the necessary skills to use digital technology efficiently, effectively and responsibly. These are essential skills for success in the 21st century.
What will I learn?
In Year 7, Digital Technology students acquire practical programming skills by developing their own digital solutions, achieved through a range of practical projects that include using a visual block based or text based programming languages, data modelling, data analysis, robotics and electronics.
What will I do?
Students in Year 7 will have the opportunity to learn through a range of platforms that include: effective use of Warrnambool College’s Google Suite for use across all subjects, text based programming with Python, modelling using Microsoft Excel, investigating how data is transmitted over networks and web design using HTML/CSS, robotics using Sphero or mBots and electronics using Micro Bit.
What will this lead to?
Year 8 Digital Technology and further studies in the area of Digital Technologies.
