An introductory course in Indonesian is taught in Year 7. Indonesian is compulsory until the end of Year 8.
What will I learn?
At Warrnambool College we use a communicative approach to language study, combining listening, speaking, reading and writing skills that focus on everyday life situations. The focus is on students developing meaning and understanding related to both culture and language.
What will I do?
Year 7 topics covered in Indonesian include basic greetings, numbers, family, colours, food, culture and introductory grammar. In Year 8 students build on these foundation skills and improve their language proficiency.
What will this look like?
3 periods per week for one semester each.
