Studying Art enriches the experience of studying while at school. Art encourages self-expression through creativity and improves your critical thinking skills. Art helps with your wellbeing and happiness. It is a self-discovery and discovery of artists and art styles.
Students will learn about Art materials, techniques and processes using a range of materials. Students will learn to document their art making journey in their visual diary and see their progressive development of a personal Art style. Students will be introduced to historical and contemporary artists and artworks learning about their creative processes.
You learn to document and reflect on their explorations in a visual diary. You will learn art terms and vocabulary which they will apply in their reflective and analytical writing.
Students explore painting (watercolour, ink & acrylic), printmaking (linocut, drypoint, monoprint, collagraph), manual and digital drawing (charcoal, pencil, pen, marker, ink, ipad) and sculture and ceramics to express their creativity.
Skills studied in Art will spark a passion for pursuing Art. It will lead into VCE Art Making and Exhibiting, Visual Communication and/or Media.
