What will I learn?
Students will further develop their knowledge and skills as introduced in Year 7. Ingredients will be further explored with an emphasis on their function within a range of food products. A selection of sweet and savoury items will be produced.
What will I do?
Students will participate in the range of practical activities using a variety of cooking methods to support the topics covered throughout this unit. Health and safety practices, key ingredients and processes will be explored, analysed then evaluated. Students will work through each stage of the design process to produce a product of choice
What will this lead to?
It will help to enhance valuable life skills by enabling students to create a range of dishes at school and in the home. This subject leads into Year 9 - Food Studies.
