Science Guidelines

To be considered for a VCE subject, students will need to have successfully completed two modules of Year 10 Science.

Overview

Students will explore a variety of forms of flight. They will investigative, research, develop and construct various types of aircraft and learn the theory behind them as they follow the development of flight from a Physics perspective.

What will I learn?

Students will study topics including

• Hot Air Ballooning

• Parachutes/Sky diving

• Helicopters/gyrocopters

• Kites

• Planes/gliders

• Rockets

What will I do

At every stage, students will be encouraged to build models, pose questions, investigate and to research areas of interest to them around these central themes.

What will this lead to?

The skills and knowledge gained in this subject will be valuable for students planning to study physics or Chemistry in VCE.

Why choose this subject?

To be considered for a VCE subject, students will need to have successfully completed two modules of Year 10 Science and particularly if they are planning to study VCE Chemistry or Physics.

3 periods per week for one semester
