The aim of the Music course in Year 7 is to develop an understanding of the concepts of music and to develop skills for creating, performing and listening to music.
What will I learn?
In the course of this study, students will cover areas such as composition, theory and Aural skills, choir, contemporary instrument skills, and the use of music software programs. Students are guided through the learning of these musical concepts, developing links between the different areas of study.
What will I do?
You will learn about music, your relationship with music and how to utilise your musical knowledge in many different contexts. You will learn ensemble skills and how to use music technology, such as GarageBand.
What will this lead to?
Year 7 Music can lead to further music studies in Year 8 or participation in Instrumental lessons and the College band programs.
