Today is the day, I am finally turning 16 years old! I have been waiting well, basically my whole life for this day to come! Normally I would be sitting down at the counter slouching and eating breakfast but today was different, today I made breakfast, a whole 5-star breakfast. I couldn’t sleep so I just woke up at 4 a.m and started making breakfast. The breakfast included pancakes, eggs, scrapple, bacon, waffles, and a variety of fruits.
The first person up was my mom expecting to be making breakfast but she woke up to a surprise seeing me in the kitchen multitasking with frying the eggs and also toasting the waffles. “Well, look who is up at the crack of dawn!” My mother said surprised. “It’s only 5:30 a.m” I couldn’t help but roll my eyes and smile at my comment. It was a miracle to even see me out of my room at 9 a.m. so this was pretty rare. “I’m making breakfast if you couldn’t tell already,” I said proudly. “I can see that, is there some special occasion happening? Did you get a boyfriend?” I was hurt, I couldn’t believe it. My mother, my mother forgot about my birthday, not only my birthday but my SIXTEENTH birthday, my sweet sixteen.
“Oh nothing special I just felt like cooking breakfast,” I said quietly. “Don’t be silly I know it is your birthday sweetie, happy birthday my baby girl!” She said happily! “Aw my baby is getting so old, it felt like you were 6 years old just yesterday.” She said as she kissed my forehead. “Mom stop, I get it, I’m a big girl now,” I said I couldn’t help but laugh. I was pouring everyone a glass of orange juice when I moved my hand toward one of the cups to grab it when suddenly the orange juice began floating out of the cup. I jumped back in shock and as I jumped back the orange juice returned to the cup. “What the heck?” I thought to myself. I tried to pick up the cup again and this time I was successful. “Weird,” I thought but decided it was probably just because I was tired.
“Good morning my little angel!” Jamie’s dad said in a sing-song voice. “Good morning Dad!” I replied in a chirpy voice. “Good morning.” My brother said groggily as he slept and walked down the stairs. “Good morning,” I replied mocking his tone. “Hey, it’s not my fault you guys woke me up so early.” He snapped back. “Never said it was,” I replied with a grin. “Okay moving on,” I said “I made pancakes, eggs, scrapple, bacon, waffles, and various fruits. Enjoy!” Everyone just stared at the food for a couple of seconds to make sure this was real, normally my mom makes the food and it is usually burnt eggs so everyone was just making sure this was real food. “This looks... Good.” My brother said. “Uhm, duh I made it, of course, it is gonna taste good,” I replied proudly. “Whatever,” he said as he began digging into his food.
After breakfast, I cleaned up and did the dishes before I got ready. It took me a while to get ready because I was debating which shirt I should wear, cotton blue crop top, or pink cotton crop top. Eventually, I just decided to wear the blue one since blue was my favorite color. I went downstairs to everyone else waiting down there and my mom holding the car keys. “Where are we going?” I questioned. “You’ll see, just come on we’re gonna be late.”
