I’ve never been so disappointed in my FPL performance this season. Not only did I waste five game weeks owning Haaland, but I also wasted my Free Hit, put 39 points on the bench, and am more than 100 points behind my brother. In this mini article, I’m going to overview my worst decisions of FPL so far, and some of the highlights two.

Worst Moments

#1 Jesus Midweek Transfer

This is the most recent one, and it just pisses me off. I decided to bring Gabriel Jesus into my team directly after the Arsenal VS Brighton game. With Nwerani injured, I knew his minutes were guaranteed. I even took a bet that he wouldn’t get injured in his two games before the next Gameweek, and that was one of the worst bets ever. He tore his ACL against Man United. Now, I flushed 4 points down the toilet, and with how close all of my leagues are it’s going to hurt badly.

#2 Matheus Nunes On The Free Hit

I remember telling my older brother, “I’m going to crush you with my free hit! Guess who I have on my team? Matheus Nunes!” He laughed- and I should have known. He is top of the league, it’s best to listen to him. This was when Matheus Nunes was in great form, and I was so close to captaining him, but I didn’t. That week he blanked, and my team all together got 39 points. 

#3 Haaland…

As a Man City fan, I had to start this season with Haaland. But after his 10-goal streak ended, I had him for ten more games where he blanked in each one. This was 14.7 Million down the drain. I remember having Okoli from Leichster on my team because I had so little funds. He didn’t even start. I also had…

#4 Wout Faes on my bench for 15 game weeks straight.

This happens when you have a 15 million pound striker taking up half of your funds. Wout Faes. I thought I was so slick, he was only 4.0! All he did was sit on my bench every single week. Once I got rid of him I moved to Tyler Dibling who didn’t even start. 4th option bench week in week out.

#5 The 20 Billion hits I took before bench boost…

Enzo, Milenkovic, Amad, Cunha, Jackson; Why in the world did I take 4 hits on bench boost? This was 16 points. 16! The worst part is I took Amad out the next week, transferred Enzo out after the next two weeks, and transferred Cunha out after that! What was I thinking? The only smart investment there was Ait Nouri to Milenkovic.

Highlights

#1 Long Term Matz Sels

Since the very beginning of the season, Matz Sels has rotated in and out with Dean Henderson in goal, and i haven’t taken a single hit on goalkeeper. It also helps that Sels has had the most clean sheets and has increased in so much value and I don’t even have to pay it!

#2 Captaincy

I cannot think of one instance this season when I made a mistake about who to captain. 

# Second Chance

I have been far better than my brother for the business end of this season and I have made smart differential decisions and smart hits, too. I should have really started doing well the first game week. It shouldn’t have taken me this long!
