In the word “scent” which letter is silent: the "s" or the "c"?
This is why the English language was the worst thing ever invented. No one knows. I am actually extremely mad at answering this. I am going to answer and say the c is silent. Because if the “s” was silent, it would be either (“k” c sound)ent or (“s” c sound)ent. No, just to try to improve the English language a tiny bit, I’m going to play my part by saying the c is silent because there is only one way to pronounce the “s” when it is attached to a vowel. There is no correct answer to this one.
