Random Rants #8 by Madeline Perchiniak
Well, here we are again. It’s been a few weeks since the last Random Rants, but do not fear—the new one is here.
(I thought I’d give rhyming a try; this is the first and last time it's making an appearance.)
Okay, okay, we’re actually going to rant now: Getting right into it, gluesticks. I hate glue sticks right now. I brought three perfectly new gluesticks into school, used them for about two weeks, and they’re literally out of glue already. I don’t understand how a person can run out of THREE glue sticks in two weeks. Sure, I let people borrow them, but unless they are literally covering the whole sheet of paper, there is no good reason why gluesticks run out so fast. I would get the bigger glue sticks, but they take up too much space and are more expensive. At this point, I wish we were just writing notes instead of gluing them in.
Little throwback to the first Random Rants, but we’re going to talk about the weather. ITS SO COLD. I swear it was like 75 degrees one day, and then the next it was 29. There was no warning. The walk into the school building doors is maybe a minute, and just during that time, I could turn into an icicle. I knowwwwwww it's December, but December needs to chill out. (see what I did there.) The only thing that is getting me through the weather is that Christmas is right around the corner. I guess the Earth decided there would be no transition period this year.
We’ve arrived at our final topic of the day, sweatshirts. Don’t get me wrong, I love sweatshirts like everyone else, but I have noticed some new annoyances since I wear one every day for my uniform. One: They are always either over-insulated or super thin. I want an in-the-middle, light but warm sweatshirt. Two: Who’s idea was it to make useless tiny little hoods that don’t do anything? Fired. Three: They are either way too baggy or way too fitting. Just let us have somewhere in the middle.
The winter was bound to come, yes, but with its chilly themes, many annoyances have arisen. Thanks for reading this week's Random Rants, and come back next week for the ninth edition!
