I did not get my predicted XI right, but I did predict the score. Foden scored a hatrick and Rodri scored a goal! Woohoo!
Man City VS Aston Villa Preview
Predicted XI, Score, and more.
By Noah Solovey
CMON CITEH! The midweek fixture has arrived for City and I'm nothing but confident for the game. It's a recipe for a win: Etihad Stadium, an unavailable Ollie Watkins, a Foden in form, and best of all, a city with fire in its eyes coming off of a 0-0 tie to the Gunners at home.
It feels like a crucial fixture for the blues. With both Liverpool and Arsenal having easy fixtures this week, to stay in the title race Man City has to win. I don't expect either Liverpool or Arsenal to drop points against Sheffield and Luton, it just has to be Man City ending up with the hard fixtures. I can't say we get a break after this too. Crystal Palace away which could be trouble, Nottm Forest, and then Chelsea and Real Madrid. A mediocre Aston Villa in a whoosh of bad form is the perfect morale boost for a title-racing Manchester City.
In this article, I'm going to be predicting the score, starting XI, and talking about all things performance-wise. Without further ado, let's get started.
CITY XI: Stefan Ortega Moreno, Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Rico Lewis, Rodri, Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne, Matheus Nunes, Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland (Incorrect)
SUBS: Sergio Gomez, Oscar Bobb, Bernardo Silva, Mateo Kovacic, Phil Foden, Scott Carson, Julian Alvarez (Incorrect)
I know what you are thinking: bench Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden? Start Matheus Nunes? Jeremy Doku instead of Phil Foden? Your Dumb. I have something to support my lineup. 1: Ederson is injured. 2: Sergio Gomez IS NOT starting. 3: Rico Lewis is the only option. 4: Pep said Grealish would start. 5: Matheus Nunes has been benched for so long. 6: The Premier League said Jeremy Doku would start. 7: Phil Foden NEEDS a break. 8: Same with Bernardo Silva.
Score Prediction: 4-1 City. (Correct)
Timeline:
18' Rico Lewis, Assist: Jeremy Doku (Assist was correct but scorer was not, and the goal was in the 15th minute, close.)
27' Matheus Nunes, Assist: Jack Grealish (Nope and nope)
41' Douglas Luiz, Assist: John McGinn
61' Erling Haaland, Assist: Rodri (Assist correct and minute correct.)
71' Rodri Off, Matheus Nunes Off, Bernardo Silva On, Phil Foden On (Nope)
80' Jack Grealish Off, Rico Lewis Off (Injured), Kovacic On, Sergio Gomez On (the players coming on both came on but those players didn't come off)
82' Sergio Gomez, Assist: Erling Haaland
90+1' Ezri Konsa Second Yellow
90+2' Diaby scores offside
90+9' Fulltime
Most of that stuff is ENTIRELY random and predicted. To be honest Sergio Gomez ain't scoring if his life depended on it. At least that's what I see in training.
CMON CITEH! YOU CAN WIN IT TODAY!
