Halloween by Madeline Perchiniak
I find Halloween to be an interesting holiday. Some celebrate, some don’t, it doesn’t have a wide range of love like Christmas, and we still have school on it. Now this might just be me, but I like Halloween, but it's nowhere near my favorite holiday.
Sure, there are some die-hard fans of Halloween, but its purpose is pretty funny to me.
We go to strangers' houses to get candy, two things parents usually tell their children never to do, yet one night, this rule just fades away. I mean, sure, most of the time, trick-or-treating takes place in a neighborhood with friendly neighbors, but still, I don’t understand how the holiday even took shape.
Also, Halloween is such a random holiday. It's a different day every year (I mean, Tuesday, Monday, Wednesday, etc.), and half the time, it's hot, which just does not fit the spooky, creepy description of Halloween. Maybe if the weather cooperated, it’d be better.
Say what you want, but Halloween is a weird holiday.
