Super Bowl Ads Editorial
Written By Noah Solovey
If you didn’t know, Americans who watch the Super Bowl but aren’t football fanatics all agree on one thing: the Super Bowl ads are the best. From stupid old ladies eating Doritos to boring ads yapping about Tesla being dangerous, the ads are so enjoyable to watch. Super Bowl ads cost around 7 Million dollars, so companies like to put their all into them. Some companies go all out, and others have celebrities advertise for them, there are always techniques these companies use to advertise. In this article, I’ll be ranking my top five favorite Super Bowl ads. Judged by uniqueness and craziness, let’s see fifth place.
5th: Couch Potatoes
The Couch Potatoes ad was excellent to grab attention. It had roughly one hundred people dressed up as potatoes, sitting on a couch. You can’t tell me that isn’t clever. The main reason for it going in fifth rather than fourth is because it grabbed more attention to the goofy ad rather than what the ad was advertising. I recently heard that it was Pluto TV. How are you supposed to know that?
4th: The Dawn Boycott
Not many people recognized this ad as a good one. But out of all the ads, the one that stuck out the most was The Dawn Boycott. This ad had some “uhmf” in it. It spoke, it didn’t have any humor, it just had events. It was direct and showed the danger of Tesla. It even had a dummy on the road showing what would happen. Isn’t that a bit going too far? Well, I have to say this ad got in my head.
3rd: Snapchat
Dang. This ad gave me nightmares. This ad was basically the dawn boycott ad but it became positive at the end. Like actually, less likes, more fun. This ad got me. It convinced me that social media is dangerous. I’m scared now. You know what, fewer likes. Fewer “friends.” More friends. More Snapchat.
2nd: Doritos
What do you get when you mix old ladies and Doritos? An amazing and hilarious ad. Now I want these Doritos! I want the last bag! I don’t want some random guy to steal my Doritos! Plus, those Doritos looked amazing!
1st: Like A Good Neighbaa
This ad was funny. Firstly, it had a celebrity. Secondly, it had humor. And finally, it advertised. There was nothing better then this add. Oh, I almost forgot. It had Jake From State Farm! State Farm, I am giving the Super Bowl add trophy to you in great Honaa. Sorry, Honor.
