The Ballon d'Or is not coming up anytime soon, but the season is flying by and some players are showing that they are true contenders for the 2024 season.
In this short editorial, I'll be discussing the top five highest contenders for the 2024 Ballon d'Or. The way I'll be judging the pros and cons of the players are off their stats, performance, and succession.
Without further ado, let's begin. Remember, this article is completely subjective.
5th: Kevin De Bruyne
Kevin De Bruyne is arguably the best midfielder in the world and is in the discussion of the midfield goats. He along with Haaland is unstoppable. He could easily have won the Ballon d'Or if he hadn't been out for half the season, so fifth for him. Is that fair?
4th: Harry Kane
Yes, he is ripping up the Bundesliga single-handedly, but he has also cursed Bayern single-handedly. Also, he can't win the Ballon d'Or without trophies, right? He is constantly scoring goals, but just if he doesn't win the Bundesliga... he'll be a meme.
3rd: Kylian Mbappe
No way. I am not putting Mbappe in 1st. He plays in a dusty farmers league called Ligue 1, does anybody care about it? He might be scoring goals, but on whom? The 18th place Clermont Foot goalkeeper - M Diaw? Who the heck is that? Well, once he moves to Real Madrid the gossip above can stop and he can get third for Ballon d'Or
2nd: Erling Haaland
He's scoring goals and should win the Ballon d'Or, but it is stolen by...
1st: Bellingham
He shouldn't win the Ballon d'Or, but he robbed it for ^
