54 of the 64 Miss Universe contestants for 1970 were invited to the World Expo held in Osaka, Japan. Mostly of the ones missing did not go because they were not selected yet by the middle of June 1970.

She was sent back home from Miami because she was under age. She came back to compete in the Miss Universe pageant of 1971.
