What is this? Such a feeling that i can’t escape,
This is confusion,
This is happy,
This is frustration,
This is sappy,
This is nothing,
This is what goes on in my head.
A feeling that I can’t escape is what this is.
I can no longer smile without having a river
Rolling down my cheek.
I can no longer cry without having this
insane smile on my face
I can no longer worry without hoping that it happens.
I can no longer feel nothing other than the feeling itself.
I have a feeling, but what is it?
This is the feeling that comes with the disorder
The disorder that doesn't let you fully lash out.
This is the disorder that doesn't’ let you live the moment
without having some type of bad thought.
This is the disorder that I live with.
This is it.
This is the feeling.
My inspiration behind this piece is the disorder that I’m dealing with, bipolar disorder (BPD). To explain a little more I have learned to live and thrive with it. There wasn’t really any specific way I wrote this; it just came to me, although I did try to use some literary devices such as rhyming and repetition.
I enjoyed the repetition you put into this poem, and I enjoyed the way you used many vocabulary words to express how you are feeling.

That feeling, of feeling stuck, trapped in your own thoughts with an overflowing wave of different emotions that I feel all at once is all to familiar for me. Jenn embodied the sensation and emotions that you feel when overwhelmed exquisitely.
--Diana Reyes
I enjoyed this poetry because of how detailed it is with the emotions and how she descries perfectly what she feels. Many people are afraid to express themselves this way because of the judgement people might give them but it's honestly something that just happens to humans and we need to be there for each other and to help out each other when it comes to feelings like these. Especially with this generation the majority is more open about these type of feelings and it's good because it deserves to be talked about and this poetry is what shows how someone should express themselves and to be okay with expressing themselves like this so someone can help or understand them.
