Sometimes,
Everything is better at night
Stomping in the silence, walking guided by the lamps.
Sometimes,
Peacefulness flows like smooth waves
When minds are drowning
In a glass of water that feels like a depthless sea.
Sometimes,
A night that never dies is better than the sun that always shines
The city lights blind, charming the view of eyes
Darkness replaced by moons and stars
Lighting up a mind.
Sometimes,
The silence is too loud
Too afraid that sounds will wake up the day
A reality of clouds in the sky and clouds in the mind
The sun is too bright
And being captivated by its light hurts your eyes.
Sometimes, night is always better than day.
What inspired me to write this poem is the fact that I’ve always found comfort in the night, as others are sleeping and there’s quietness everywhere it truly feels peaceful. I guess this is why, despite being tired, I prefer to stay awake to enjoy the underwhelming emotions it brings me.
I must admit I was amazed by the way you used figurative language, it was very smooth. I also do like nights better so I can agree with your poem. I like how you added ¨the silence is too loud¨, because it really is.

This poem expresses a lot of emotions, giving the audience a better feeling in which they can connect better with the poem. My favorite part is “ Peacefulness flows like smooth waves / When minds are drowning.”
