Have you ever met someone who acted exactly like someone you’ve met before? You should say yes because that happens all the time. I work in the fast food industry, and that is where you meet a wide set of people who are completely different and completely crazy. Then I would see people who would act the same way. For instance
I would see a mom with her kids and the way she joked around with her kids is the same way my sister would joke around with her kids. But it’s not just her humor that got me, it was the way she talked and gestured with her hands. It felt like I'd seen it before.
Now before I start to lose you, the main purpose of this talk Is to tell you who and what shapes you. And if there's another me out in the audience I would be saying to myself “oh this guy thinks he knows everything.” I might’ve gotten a few people. But trust me I’m pretty average.
Your personality comes from your surroundings.
Where you come from: Some people come from humble beginnings and some people come from wealthy families and if you met the two, you can tell that they are not a match
Your parents and people around you: You can be around bad influences or good influences
How old you are: When you're younger nothing really matters and then when you're older and have more responsibilities your personality changes, It’s also just called maturity. You’re like a sponge when you're born you suck up the knowledge of the world and use it with the world and sometimes against it kinda ironic.
The number one thing that really speaks out loud about your personality is you… you choose what to do, when to do it, how to do it and why to do it. You are the king of the kingdom.
But just to close out the night with something to reflect on, I guarantee that there will be another TED speaker up here who talks like I do or that you’ve seen someone before talk like me.
I loved every minute of writing this; it was a complete joy and it is a subject that is not talked about much. I talk to many people and I am fascinated by the differences in the people I see, and it’s crazy because it has so much reasoning behind it.
I liked that you got my attention by asking me a question, because it got me thinking. I also liked how you told us a time that a random person reminded you of your sister. I liked that you picked a topic that no one really talks about.
