Breath,
Breathe the air that we are living in
Where the world is unfair and we learn how to despair
Where we see kids getting separated with such fear, us people don’t want to hear
We became so ignorant, our world is now dying of swear that it became so unpleasant for the rare
Full of hearts that have such doubts
It’s sad to see yall struggle, it’s turning into a puddle
We blame it on natural disasters as if we aren't the real monsters
We like to hide in our imaginary worlds as if we rule the world
Now everything has a say in it where opinions started to take our breath away
It is us, that don’t know how to act where everything seems like a pact
Peace is what we thought we had, it's sad to see us mad
Where school shootings aren’t a scare anymore as we learn to live in a outstare world
But who am I to question the world? Where we think we all have it figure it out, as we see all four seasons pass
Goodbye
I was inspired by the world that we see now, where our own dignity is being taken away from ourselves. We see everything happening and we don’t do anything about it, but we pretend we are listening to deep words that mean a lot to others in specific areas. For example abortion or the LGBTQ issues where we all protest and want to be heard, or seeing the wildfires from California and seeing the climate change. But yet we don’t do anything about it but write a piece of paper for the news. All these hurricanes cause everyone to act out, fighting for water and food when there are other areas with poverty and little kids without a shirt, skinny walking around. Where we see immigrants trying to live a better life and have no other option but to go to America and leave their family to make some money to send to their loved ones. Where we see Americans talk nonsense and hardly find respect for those who work for their own good. Where we see our soldiers protect us and give their lives, sometimes ending with a bad result. We manage to live in this world and still do nothing about it. We learned how to live in this horrible world, which describes the line where I said “Where school shootings aren’t a scare anymore as we learned to live in a outstare world.”
I really liked this poem because it talks about the worlds problems and how we've normalized that over the period of times. It was also a unique poem, I don't think I've ever read a poem that actually talks about life's reality.
