You have to take the good with the bad.
Let's plant smiles as bright as the sun.
Let's grow laughter for the crowd.
Let’s harvest the love our lives are missing,
Even Though sometimes,
Our mind is fractured,
And our hearts are broken into pieces,
We need to turn our sadness into kindness
And don't look back to the past, but the present
Remember life is short to be anything,
But happy.
I decided to write about how I've been smiling throughout all the pain that I have inside me , and how discouraged and upset I am since I have a lot of problems in my life. With this poem I chose the line “ let's plant smiles as bright as the sun “ because throughout my dark and fractured side I've been laughing and making people laugh as well, spreading good and positive vibes to everyone. The line “ And our hearts are broken into pieces” was brought up by how my heart is not complete right now specially because during thes month of September I lost my 7 month old baby nephew, a baby that I started loving since he was in my sister's belly, and thinking about how I saw him laying down on a casket just destroys me. I also chose “ And don't look back to the past, but the present '' because I am a person who gets affected really quickly by everything they do to me and also i dont forget it in this instance. I got really mad at myself with this line because I cant understand and leave everything in the past , I am tripping every second for it. All I can say is that people are always going to see me with a smile on my face and with positive energy, without knowing how I really feel inside .
I like how this poem is talking about pushing yourself to look on the bright side when you're sad. My favorite line of this poem was "Remember life is short to be anything, but happy". This line spoke to me because we have to enjoy our life to the fullest while we can.

I really liked the way the author ended the poem, "remember life is short to be anything, but happy." I also liked how in the second line the author found a way to compare smiling and the sun.
