Police brutality is something that is getting more and more common as the days pass by. Innocent lives being taken , and people being the target of cops as they walk down the streets. As you've probably seen on the news it's mostly black and Hispanic people being targeted. This had been going on for years , and its time that the murders get the punishment they deserve and not be shouting dumb excuses to get away from the crime. It's not fair for people to live their lives in fear of an interaction with cops. Well, think to yourself , “aren't cops the ones that we call to get help and feel safe?” Nowadays a Black / Hispanic person thinks hard and doubts on calling cops and defending themselves from white people. As it has shown on news and research a black/Hispanic person is 3 times more likely to get killed by a cop than a white person is. A lot of people say that racism has been non-existing for a while, but I strongly disagree that racism is never going away and will remain with us forever. As much as I wish that none of this was true, unfortunately there are lots of people who unfortunately lost their lives due to a racist cop. It's time to end this and stick up for our people before it's too late.
What made me write this small essay is that police brutality is something that has become normal in our society. I was really thinking about all the angles that unworthily lost their lives to cops. It made me right my honest opinion and express how I feel towards this behavior.
I really enjoyed reading this piece due to the fact that it was an essay with strong feelings. And also as a daughter of Mexican parents this makes me feel those feelings this author mentions and wants you to feel. The fear, anger, and justice. I also like the ending which is "Its time to end this and help our people before its too late."

I enjoyed the way that your emotion and thoughts were made obvious. This is a topic that I am very interested in. I love the way you used the word murderer to hold these cops accountable. You calling their excuses dumb shows how blunt and over this we as a society are.
