Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand is a book about a boy Louie Zamperini who went from being unwanted and broken to being a beloved olympian and then after becoming a Japanese prisoner. As a Japanese prisoner, Louie didn’t let the Japanese military break him. I started reading this book because of the movie I watched. After finishing this book I felt bad for Louie because of the way he was treated.
This book resonated with me because being in band and going to Northbrook, we would see all these bands that were two to three times our size from Cy Fair ISD that were really good, and we would feel like we couldn't compete with them. The past 4 years I have been in band, and we have always played and competed with Cy Fair. This year for the first time in 10 years we got a division 1 rating which is the best you could get in a UIL competition.
