40 min pass and not a word is on my paper,
finally a few words emerge, but are quickly submerged
in a stream of overthinking
by this cognitive distortion called perfection
I don't know what to write
so I don't
I don't know.
I was inspired to write this essay by that feeling that I always have when I'm tasked with writing something because I always want to strive for perfection but I always feel that my work is never good enough. I end up not writing anything until the last minute so my work comes out rushed.
Soooooo relatable!! This is exactly how I felt in the beginning phase of trying to write my poem. It was so creative to make this struggle a poem. Writing down the process and what you´re thinking. The length is good, it makes sense. A short poem for a blank mind. Sometimes just writing what we are feeling at the moment creates something relatable to many. Great poem!!!

I really liked how Christian's thought process was included in the poem. The process of creating a writing from scratch can be difficult. I also enjoyed the part where we usually always strive for perfection in writing even though it is unattainable. This poem made me think of my struggles with writing.

A short poem with a big meaning. I get what you are trying to say because I can relate. It can be 30 or 40 minutes, even a hour, and your paper will still be blank, but as soon as you overthink boom words just come out. I get the "I don't know."
