Has anyone heard the phrase ¨robots are the future¨ and thought about what the meaning of it was? Well now you don't have to think about it because the meaning of this phrase is coming right to us, with robots and new advanced technology coming closer near our lives each day. Coming in handy to facilitate our lives are things such as smart vacuum cleaners or smart delivery cars. It is true that inventions like this help us, but it will also eventually destroy us. Maybe not like movies like Terminator, but in another way, little by little doing the jobs a human does. Humans not having jobs means humans have no spending money, no spending money means no money flow, and no money flow might cause an economic depression affecting almost everyone.
As of right now it might not be noticeable because of the government aid money people have been receiving due to the pandemic, but with the pandemic servant robots also came in, being the replacement for waiters and cooks at restaurants because no one was willing to work. There were also robots working in the fields to complete the demand for food. Another reason it is not noticeable is because of how expensive it is to build one robot, maybe because of its advanced technology, but TVs for example had the same problem not so long ago. If you think about it, these robots and advanced technology will be available more and more until it's part of our daily lives either to cause good or bad outcomes. One thing that I might not have mentioned is not only the low-skilled jobs that these advanced technologies are doing like factory, field, and restaurant labor but some are also doing the jobs of accountants and tax return repairers for example and factory or business owners. Others might think this is a good idea, but if soon there's not enough people working making money to spend in the economy, there would be no money going to some business and to the factories themselves. As I said before, we can't really see the problem here because robots and advanced technology are barely coming in, but little by little we´ll see the impact somewhere in the future.
In my opinion this topic would affect everyone in the future, but now that you think about it, would robots or advanced technology be able to be overcome in your workplace in a couple of years? Or maybe a family member or friend?
Hello, my name is Esli Compean and I am currently a senior at Northbrook High School. What inspired me to write this essay is thinking about what my future would be like. Thinking about the possibilities I´ll have to get into a work setting if there is any left as I have been seeing news of how advanced technology currently is.
A phrase that remarkably stood out to me was "It is true that inventions like this help us, but it will also eventually destroy us" I fully agree with Esli, Not only will advance machinery start taking people jobs but they can really destroy livelihoods how people make a living. I like the way the author Esli adds to the points he is trying to make details such as jobs that could be taken away by robots.

I really liked this writing essay, I like how it portrays a future, giving us examples of possible outcomes such as "Humans not having jobs, humans have no spending money, not spending money means no money flow," I think it really portrays an image such as in the stories we've heard before making it no boring and interesting.
I think that same quote is my favorite and the below part is my favorite part of the essay in which explains it statement.
