Description:
Small trees with a dense bushy crown, up to 15 m tall. Leaves opposite, elliptic to lanceolate, cuneate at the base, rounded to shortly acute at the apex. Young leaves emerge reddish, turning red-brown then green. Inflorescence a few flowered, terminal dichasial cyme; pedicels to 1.5 cm long. Calyx tube narrowly obconic, 5 mm long; lobes oblong, 3 mm long, green, tipped with red. Petals white, rounded, 4 mm across. Stamens many, white, 6-8 mm long. Fruit ovoid, 1.3-1.5 cm long, reddish.
