Description: 

Perennial herbs, up to 1 m tall, stems almost quadrangular erect or ascending. Leaves opposite, quite variable in shape, dimension and colour, usually ovate, acute to acuminate at apex, acute to truncate or subcordate at base, margins serrate or crenate, pubescent. Inflorescences terminal cymes, up to 50 cm long. Flowers to 1.2 cm long. Corolla bilabiate, glandular-hairy, obtuse and trifid upper lip, of white or pale blue.
