Description:
Evergreen, much-branched perennial shrubs with a strong, odour. Leaves simple, opposite, elliptic-lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, apex acute, margins entire. Flowers in compact, axillary, pedunculate spikes; peduncles 3-10 cm long. Corolla white with red or yellow-barred throats. Stamens 2; filaments hairy at the base. Fruits clavate, longitudinally channelled, seeds globular, glabrous.
