Trees, 5-7 m high; branches spreading. Leaves simple, alternate, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, base obliquely subcordate, apex acuminate, margin serrate, glandular hairy above, woolly beneath. Flowers 1.5-3 cm across, white rarely pink. Sepals 5. Petals 5, ovate, obovate or suborbicular, shortly clawed. Disc annular, bearing a ring of hairs on the exterior margin. Stamens many. Berry, 1-1.5 cm across, red or pink, subglobular.
