Description:
Shrubs; branches often spiny, terete. Leaves simple, opposite, elliptic-ovate or obovate. Sometimes leaves variegated with yellow. Flowers in simple or panicled racemes. Corolla blue or violet. Stamens 4, didynamous. Drupes yellow or orange-yellow, 6-10 mm across, globose.
