Description:
Bulbous herbs; shoots to 75 cm, stem hollow. Leaves c. 10, flattened, sheathing below, to 40 x 2 cm. Scapes, one to several, 30-60 cm long. Umbel spherical, 2-15 cm in diameter. Flowers 50-200. Tepals six in two alternate whorls of three each, lilac or white. Stamens 6, in two whorls of three each.
