Description: 

Tree, 30-45 m tall. Bole straight or slightly fluted. Leaves of juvenile plants short-petiolate, linear-lanceolate, usually curved, margins undulating, base abruptly narrowing, apex long-acuminate or acute; mature leaves usually smaller, up to 15 cm long; midrib raised on the upper leaf surface, flattened or raised beneath; young leaves flushing reddish or pinkish. Male cones sessile, solitary or in clusters of 2–3, long-cylindrical and lax at maturity. Seed cones solitary, on peduncles 5–20 mm long.
