Description:
Clustering, pinnate leaved, palm; stem slender, green, lower portion of the stem light brown in colour. Leaves 7-8 in number per crown; leaflets bright green on the upper side & dull green lower, 60 x 5-8 cm, praemorsed at the apex, terminal leaflets broad and jointed. Inflorescence is interfoliar, flower branches pale yellow. Stamens 26-40. Ripe fruits ovoid, yellow to bright red, 1-1.5 cm long and have remnants of the stigma at the apex; seed deeply (3-) 6-grooved with homogeneous endosperm .
