Description: 

Perennial herbs, to 30 cm tall; stems tufted; roots tuberous. Leaves all rosette, sessile, ensiform, variegated, apex acute, mucronate, nerves prominent on lower surface. Scape 20-45 cm, flowers towards the apex of raceme, sparsely flowered. Flowers white, usually in alternate 3-5 flowered clusters. Perianth lobes 6, in two whorls of 3 each. Stamens 6, divaricated, erect.
