Description:
Shrubs to 2.5 m high; stems bright green or purple Leaves simple, opposite, oblong to elliptic, base acute to attenuate, apex acute to shortly acuminate, margin subentire. Flowers in clusters on an erect terminal spike to 12 cm long; bract, ovate, orange to red. Sepals oblanceolate yellowish with red shades, half as long Corolla. Corolla tubular, with 5 short, rounded reflexed lobes, yellow to orange. Stamens much exserted from corolla tube, filaments hairy.
