Description:
Large, evergreen, scandent shrubs with quadrangular, young branches. Leaves opposite, ovate or elliptic-ovate, entire to coarsely dentate, shortly acuminate. Cymes axillary, pedunculate; bracts lanceolate, 4-5 mm long. Flowers brick-red to orange, c. 6 mm across. Calyx petaloid, c. 1.5 cm across. Corolla-tube curved, limb sub-bilabiate unequally 5-lobed. Drupe 5-8 mm long, obovoid.
