Description:
Small trees; stem smooth with pealing bark; young stem 4-angled. Leaves simple, opposite, elliptic-oblong. Cymes axillary, 1-3-flowered; peduncles 0.5-1.2 cm long. Calyx tube 4-9 mm long, ovoid, densely hirsute; lobes 4, united and closed in bud. Petals 4, white. Stamens many. Berry 4-6 cm diam., globose or ovoid; seeds many, embedded in white or pink-red fleshy pulp.
