All items are treated the same whether they are 4-packs, single bottles or Threes or Third Party.

When an item hits the unit count of 3 at either Greenpoint or Huntington, we’re going to Soft 86 the item.

• Soft 86 means we are going to remove it from the website by moving it from the main beer part of the site (thereby removing it from the location that was down to 3 units), and adding it to Local Specials pages for any location or delivery method that still has >3 inventory.

• To remove a product from the main beer page in Shopify and add it to Local Specials, we remove the "Beer On Website" tag and add the tags for the locations that still have sufficient inventory.

  • For example, if a product is down to 3 units of inventory in Greenpoint and you want to remove the product from being offered at Greenpoint, then go to the product page in Shopify and remove the "Beer On Website", add "Huntington" and "Gowanus" tags, and click Save.

  • Do not adjust the Sales Channels, do not do anything besides adjusting the tags. Whatever the inventory says, focus on the location you are working at and follow the steps above.

Big Change #1: We are no longer moving the Soft 86d inventory to the back and saving it for potential pickups. Don't remove it from the menus or stop selling it. The only time we stop selling something is when it's sold out and you have no more to sell.

Big Change #2: Each location is responsible for transitioning the items to local specials. If you aren't 100% comfortable or sure what this entails, just talk to me and in a pinch, read these instructions again. Maybe print it out and laminate it by your terminal? Who knows.

Big Change #3: You don't need to Gchat James inventory updates anymore, but they do need to go in the Almanac. The managers or designated inventory stewards for each location simply includes the inventory changes in their almanacs as "Soft 86d" and I'll add them to the next available transfer for a restock, if it's suitable. If you run out, no big deal.

Will and I will stay in charge of Gowanus inventory related stuff. We will still manage and oversee that specific system and unless you are Will and James, don't worry about Gowanus. Each other location will manage shopify based on its own inventory.

I'll still move stuff to walk in, but items with images you can sell to zero! It's okay.
