• Process:

  • To apply for renewal, download Firefox since the website is only compatible with Internet Explorer and Firefox.

  • Log into my.ny.gov with the 3foldnysjustin account (password in 1Password). Click on NYS License Center (middle box at the bottom of the page).

  • Click on Manage My Licenses (second tap at the top of the page).

  • Under Records, you’ll see “Marketing 3 Year Permit”. Under Actions, you’ll see the option to “Renew Application”. Click on “Renew Application”.

    • Page 1: Check the box to agree with the terms and conditions

    • Page 2: Verify that the New York State Liquor Authority License number is correct

  • We needed this to sell to-go at F+K because we don’t have a full liquor license there, but we use it for other purposes too.

  • For some reason, we had two different active SLA Marketing Licenses (S616-16-00119 and S616-16-00059). We are letting the 00059 permit expire and will operate under the other license number until it expires in March 2020. We spoke to SLA and they confirmed that the Marketing License is not dependent on the location because it is meant to be used off-site.

  • With a Marketing Permit, craft manufacturers can conduct tastings and sell their products at locations off their licensed premises.

  • A Marketing Permit can be used at an establishment licensed to sell the beverages that will be tasted (e.g. liquor stores), the State Fair, county fairs, farmers markers and charitable events. A Marketing Permit can also be used at other events including street fairs and festivals, provided the Authority is notified at least 15 days before the event.

  • In general, under your brewery’s marketing permit, you could sell beer at an event or venue if (a) the venue is has a license, or (b) there is a one day permit in effect at the venue.

    • If there is no one day permit, then you, or the event host, could obtain one
