Since it is not possible to sanitize a printed menu after every use, we are offering the menu via QR codes on our tables. For on-premise drinks, customers will still need to order via a staffer at the bar/door, however, they can now access the menu via QR code.
A QR code is a machine-readable label that contains information that will route users to a web-based .pdf of our menu at:
The following should be featured prominently in the space on tables, countertops, etc.
Beverage Operations will be responsible for keeping the current menu up-to-date. Managers will also be cross-trained to ensure continuity for days when James is not working.
Each time the menu is updated, it should be uploaded to Shopify's image server. That is done by clicking Settings > Files, uploading a .pdf version of the menu and then copying the URL where it now lives (the file will always start with https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files).
See the video below for visual instructions.
Every time we update the menu, a new URL is created. In order to avoid having to create a new code with each menu update, we have a "redirect" from the URL the code directs customers (http://shop.threesbrewing.com/threesmenu) to the file that was created in the Shopify image server.
In order to update this, simply visit URL Redirects (can also be found via Online Store > Navigation). Once you're there, find the "/threesmenu" redirect and update the "Redirect to" field with the URL copied from the step above.
