When new beer labels are needed, the Head Brewer will create an assignment in Basecamp with how many labels are needed for each beer style, and where they need to be shipped to.
To place an order, you will email our Blue Label rep, Zach Bobich: zachb@bluelabelpackaging.com
He needs to know the style name, assigned UPC, quantity, and where they need to be shipped. If there are new beers, send him the new artwork Illustrator files from Yard.
If it is old can art, Blue Label will have it on file already.
Once the order has been placed, Blue Label will respond with artwork proofs. The Head Brewer should approve these, then whoever is placing the order should respond to Blue Label to finalize.
Once the order is finalized, you will receive tracking info.
Things to Note:
Production time is 10 days from approval.
Pricing breaks exist when ordering large quantities of the same types of labels (ie: cans). Pricing breaks do not exist between different cuts of labels (ie: bottles vs cans)
After an order arrives, Blue Label will send over an invoice that needs to be forwarded to the accounting team.
All cans will need UPCs (bottles & magnums don't receive them).
We recycle the same UPC codes for different beers. They can be found in the UPC Database.
Using the database, you will determine what UPC a beer will get based on what style of beer it is. For example, The World is Flat (English Extra) fits under the "English, Mild, Porter" style category. Therefore, it will use that UPC.
Note: you will not type in or change anything within this form. Ignore the "Current UPC to Use" column.
Our flagship beers always have the same UPC. These do not change, and no other beer will borrow these UPCs. (Logical Conclusion, Vliet, SFY)
Blue Label has all of our UPC numbers & names on file. So when placing an order for The World is Flat labels, you will just include that it needs to have the "Rotating English Low Ale" UPC (from the "Name" column).
Once you have formally assigned a UPC to a beer, head to the Full Beer Portfolio
Once there, head to the UBFullBeerPortfolio tab, column V.
Search for the beer name, and paste the UPC number you just assigned into this column.
Basecamp assignment is given by the Head Brewer.
2. Download & check artwork files from the drive.
3. Place order with Blue Label by emailing Zach. CC the Head Brewer and Josh so they are in the loop. When doing this, assign UPCs and update the Full Beer Portfolio with which ones you assign.
4. Zach will respond seeking artwork approval. Forward over to the Head Brewer. Once given the go ahead, let Zach know the order is good to go.
5. You will receive an order confirmation with an estimated ship date. Send over to everyone so they are in the know.
6. Once the invoice comes in, forward over to accounting. Then you are done!
