Sgraffito Tile

My main idea to create this artwork was a photo I had taken on my car ride to Whistler, BC. I just tried to recreate it the best I could.

The materials I used were the sgraffito tile, paper, scratchboard, and the scratchboard tools. I used the tile and traced it on paper to know the size and the general placement for the mountainside. Next, I used the paper to trace on the scratchboard to create what I wanted to exactly put on my tile.

I had to figure out in my sgraffitio tile how to have a 50 50 black and white in my tile. Also, I had to try and see how to give it some texture to make the mountainside look realistic.
