Right Box- 1st Try; Realistic Painting
My main idea for this series of investigations was to demonstrate the four very different seasons in Maine. I took a picture off a side of the ski mountain Sugarloaf and tried to paint it. It was very easy for me to decide to paint the four seasons since I love capturing it and I thought I could do that in my art.
The material I used was an old canvas. I put a coat of white over the half-done old painting. On top of that, I used Posca paint pens to create the painting.
I went through a lot of processes to create this piece. I tried at first to paint it and mix colors and it started to be okay. But I’m used to painting colorful nonrealistic pieces so with this it was a test. I tried hard to make it good for my standards. I scrapped that idea and tried to go for a more colorful playful easy-going artwork. I think I did an okay job with the limited time and skill with this newer art material. I definitely think my next investigation will come out really good now that I know what I'm doing.
