After Bisque Fire
3 Coats of Glaze
Red Flame
For this project, I created a coil pot with a carving of what is abstract that turned to look like flames. I didn't think that they were flames until I picked out a red glaze and the final work of art was red. I was thinking of names with red then I realized that it was Red Flames.
I took a slab of clay for the base to start. Then I would roll coils to put around my base so they would form the pot. Once I attached them and started to gain some height I smoothed them out. From there I let my pot air dry for a day or so. All I had to do was carve my pot and add the glaze.
I created a coil pot to help learn this technique. This is a basic concept and this was a beginning pot to start off with before I make a way better historical inspired pot.
