The story is that I have a picture of my dog and need to use charcoal and ink to represent the values of the picture. I choose this image because it's a good clear picture of my dog when he was a puppy.


The specific materials used were charcoal in black and white and a few drops of ink in water. You could add a drop or two to get a light grey but then a few drops of ink to get a black color. I used a white charcoal pencil for the highlights.


I experimented with my art piece by blending the charcoal pencil together. My project evolved by me adding the ink in the darker areas from my photo. It made it pop on my drawing. My project next steps could by me adding the background of my photo.
