Sustained Investigation #3

The main idea for my first sustained investigation was to somehow incorporate mountains into this overall mini-investigation. My overall theme is to have a mountain landscape in each of my projects.

I first started with a wire sculpture of a mountain and then added plaster strips to the sculpture to create a form. I then took glue and put a thick layer on my sculpture to fill the holes and cracks. I added grey paint to my sculpture and then hot glued flowers and leaves. Lastly, I added puffy paint to give some snow.

The process I went through was how to make my sculpture more 3D than my last project. It took a lot of time for me to search through images online to get inspired to see my thoughts. Lots of experimenting and revising took place for me to be able to be happy with my project, with the leaves I first painted on the grass but then I decided to take leaves and use them instead.
