Sustained Investigation #2

Mountain Sky

The main idea for my first sustained investigation was to somehow incorporate mountains into this overall mini-investigation. My overall theme is to have a mountain landscape in each of my projects.

I started with a linoleum block that I carved to have a mountain landscape on it. Then I printed it with ink on bristol board. It needed to be 3D so I made stars out of polymer clay and taped them on. It needed something more to it so I took various colors and shades of construction paper and laid it on my print. Also adding masking tape to add layers and contrast since there were few yellow shades in the construction paper.

The processes I went through was that I didn't know what I first wanted to do and I wanted to switch things up and use rocks to make a mountain sculpture. But I forgot to bring the rocks to school and i didnt want to waste a class period so I scratch that idea and make up a new plan. Once I got my print I needed to add something 3D so I tried quilling and I didn't have enough practice to make something I was proud of. So I just used construction paper to kind of make it 3D.
